Masks for Community

Rise Ventures is supporting the Kowanyama community through tough times with the Omicron variant of the COVID-19 virus.

Alvina and a Rise Ventures team member testing out the newly made face masks

With a shortage of masks available our Supervisor Alvina Tent in the Sewing Project has been busy scoping new patterns and what masks work best and has been using all the material which has been left with all the off cuts.

Alvina has kitted out the Rise Office staff first to trial the masks. The masks will be available through the sewing project at the Rise Office Kowanyama. What a great effort Alvina!

150 Emergency Care Packages for Community

Kowanyama Aboriginal Shire Council approached Rise Ventures as they were putting together one hundred and fifty emergency care packages for the local community members who had to go into isolation due to Covid-19.

Between the generous donations from the Council with food and cleaning packages, Sports and Rec Club kindly donating power cards and Rise Ventures donating phone credit for each family.

Everyone at Rise Ventures have supported the community with one hundred and fifty emergency care packages. This will ensure they can contact services if required, have power whilst they are in isolation, emergency food and cleaning products for families.

This goes to show working together we can all help in our own way.  Well done to all involved.
