The Katherine Hot Springs has been an ongoing project for the Katherine Town Council and RISE Ventures (this project recommenced on 2 May 2017 due to held up of wet season)

The first stage involved the terracing on the main entrance bank to the Hot Springs and the installation of the gabion rock baskets. RISE Ventures have worked closely with a subcontractor from Adelaide; Prospect Construction to complete all terracing and gabion rock baskets. The skills being engaged through this Community Development Programme is ensuring that these job seekers are being upskilled in the construction industry.

RISE Ventures is also contributing toward the purchase of colour bond fence and soft landscaping through the Community Development Programme. The fence and landscaped area will elevate the erosion issues that the springs have usually had over the past wet seasons.

The second stage will be focused at the top of the Hot Springs Park and will involve a playground, new pathway’s and upgraded amenities. The completion of this project will contribute to local tourism to the area and provide further income to local business and employment outcomes for the local community.
