Kieren Haley is a 19-year-old man who grew up in the remote township of Timber Creek, 289kms east of Katherine – and he plans to make a genuine contribution to the management of Australia’s flora and fauna.

He moved to Katherine when he was 12 to study at the local High School, and by dedicating himself to his studies Kieren attained very reasonable grades in his Year 12 certificate.

Alicia Grenfell, RISE manager at Katherine, was pleased to endorse Kieren’s personal qualities; describing him as a conscientious young man with a desire to succeed in his chosen field.

“Kieren is a great CDP participant with an outstanding attendance record and has proven himself to be capable, reliable and a very hard worker,” said Alicia.

“He has a real passion to become a Ranger with Parks and Wildlife. More than anything else he has a great love for his land and the animals who live on that land “

Kieren said his immediate goal was to gain a Traineeship with Parks and Wildlife.

“I’ve been working with the RISE team to prepare me with all the necessary prerequisites to get a Traineeship in this area,” he said.

“The RISE team are also helping me to sell my attributes to Parks and Wildlife in order to secure the traineeship or an apprenticeship.”

In his spare time Kieren also loves to play footy and goes on fishing and camping trips with his family.

We congratulate Kieren on being a RISE Job Seeker of the Week and highly recommend him. We can guarantee this young man won’t give up until he achieves his goal.
