Four exercise stations have been installed along the Katherine River trail in the past week.
It is part of the Federal Government’s Community Development Program.
RISE Ventures, previously known as Jobfind, have developed an approved Work for the Dole activity called ‘Katherine Community Pride’.
The activity is working in conjunction with the Katherine Town Council.
The activity is designed to perform beautification around Katherine while upskilling participants for potential employment opportunities.
RISE ventures have paid for the project and materials required with funding provided from the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet.
The exercise stations still have some extra work to be done, which includes installation of shade sails to provide a more comfortable environment for those using the facilities.
The exercise stations project included installing the stations, installations of water bubblers (user friendly to both the public and their dogs), soft matting and shade sails.
