The Country Music hoedown last Thursday had a magnificent turnout. This community function organised by RISE was a fun day open to all, young and old from the Kowrawa community.
Activities included a mechanical bull ride, ochre face painting, apple bobbing, horseshoe quoits, tug of war and tin can alley to name but a few.
Entertainment and live music were by Luna, Jerome and Suzy B. There was a whip cracking display where Lance Starr from RISE was the brave volunteer who held the piece of paper in his hands to be ripped by the cracking whip.
The basket weavers attended showing us their weaving and skilful handiwork.
Food included Texas Ribs, Burgers, Sausage sizzle and of course – fabulous pizzas from the RISE activity unique pizza oven made from a clay termite mound!
Thanks to all involved for making this a fun day to remember!
