Lavinia Steps Up

After a recent training conference in Darwin that was attended by Rise Staff, introduced local Employment Consultants from all communities that Rise delivers in the Performance support Unit staff to increase professional relationships and familiarity. Lavinia has returned home to Kowanyama ready to lead!

During the conference, training was delivered on job plans, case management, file note recording, and post-placement support. Some confidence-boosting and leadership activities were also delivered.

The local staff was able to meet the Performance Support Unit staff that look after their region which has increased support networks for local staff and provided a solid foundation for professional development.
As a result of this conference, Lavinia has returned to the community with the confidence to step up and lead the office operations while Karen Dunell, our Rise Manager is on leave. She has also set up a new local staff member and supported her in her first days with Rise.

Lavinia has been engaging by phone with our Regional Manager Leah Simmons for support and when Leah thanked Lavinia for her hard work on the first day Lavinia had this to say:

“That’s OK, it’s part of my job. I love what I do for my community and my company!”

We are so proud of Lavinia and her passionate Leadership skills and her personal investment in her community. Lavinia really cares and at Rise that is what we are about.
