In Kowanyama, Aspirants eagerly turned up for an Excavator, Roller and Loader Training with Jenagar Pty Ltd.
We had 19 locals arrive on the first day ready to undertake theory training which they completed together.
Once theory was complete, it was all systems go for two days of intensive practical training.
The aspirants started by learning how to carry out effective prestart checks on the Roller Excavator and Skid Steer Loader.
After that, it was time to get on the machines! Operational training was the focus for the rest of the course, with eligible aspirants also being trained on the front-end loader.
Thank you to Garth and Shannon from Jenagar Pty Ltd for running such an excellent and engaging training. Thanks also go to the Kowanyama Aboriginal Shire Council for donating the use of their machinery for the training.
We were so impressed with the attendance and attitudes throughout the training. All participants had high standards for their work and were keen to learn.
Jenagar even had a visit from one of aspirants Efton, who successfully completed the training. He has his roller competency qualification and is now looking for a position as a Roller Operator.
The RISE Kowanyama team are dedicated to helping all our aspirants enrol in suitable training and find sustainable, local employment.
