No challenge too great for Katherine man to achieve his dream job

April 11, 2017

Dylan Sheen, a polite and pleasant natured young man from Far North Queensland, has made the most of our RISE programs in Katherine and he’s only been with us since December! He has fully utilised our learning management systems and training components.

Dylan has always loved helping people and early on expressed an interest in the hospitality industry, and shortly after completing an RSA, found work at the Stuart Hotel. Dylan’s work speaks for itself – he flourishes every shift and keeps learning new things about his role as a Bottle Shop attendant.

Alicia Grenfell RISE Business Manager in Katherine said: “Dylan hasn’t always had it easy in life, being diagnosed with Cerebal Palsy at a young age. However, he has never let this stop him and is one of the most determined young men we’ve met in this day and age. His commitment to putting himself out there in the world means that he is slowly and surely working towards his goal of full-time employment.”

She added: “Since joining our RISE program in Katherine, Dylan’s self-esteem has built up and he has learnt many new employable skills such as communication and routine. In fact, Dylan is such a shining star in his new job that on his first day, his manager called us twice just to rave about his performance! Dylan’s co-workers have been quoted saying “he is just ACE” and how much of a delight it is to have Dylan on the team. His eagerness, commitment and personable nature make this young man a force to be reckoned with.”

We are proud to announce Dylan Sheen as the RISE Job Seeker of the week.
