RISE CEO Michael Hobday impressed by the work being done on Mornington Island.

February 15, 2017

On his recent trip to Mornington Island CEO of RISE Michael Hobday was impressed with the different projects being conducted as part of the Islands CDP program.

He was particularly impressed with the beautification of the Foreshore project.

Michael said: “ This is a fantastic project, it’s really making a difference to the look and feel of the area, the participants enjoy the working environment and have a lot of pride in what is arguably the most picturesque part of the island. It’s a great tourist destination. “

Another highlight of the trip was the community breakfast BBQ organised by CDP manager for Mornington Island, Jo Bate and her fantastic team.

Jo said: “The breakfast was an opportunity for the community to meet our new CEO and for Michael to listen and gain feedback about the projects and the community in general.”

She added: “ It was a tremendous atmosphere, our talented staff and participants at RISE prepared a magnificent breakfast for everyone in attendance, including the mayor Brad Wilson and CEO of the council Frank Mills as well as other local dignitaries and the beautiful people of the island.“
“Michael came away with a greater understanding of the community, its challenges and his commitment that RISE will do whatever it takes to prepare participants for employment and place them into jobs.”
